Introduction

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the UgTalent Portal ("the Portal"), operated by the National Information Technology Authority - Uganda (NITA-U). By accessing or using the Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.

Access to the Portal

The Portal is provided for facilitating tech talent discovery, job applications, internship programs, digital capacity development, and talent management for NITA-U, partner public sector entities, and authorized institutions. Access is subject to system availability, and NITA-U reserves the right to restrict or suspend access at any time without prior notice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Portal to:

• Submit false, inaccurate, misleading, or fraudulent personal or professional information
• Impersonate another individual, applicant, or organization
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, server, database, or account
• Introduce malware, viruses, worms, or any code designed to disrupt platform operations
• Engage in any activity that interferes with or degrades the performance of the Portal
• Use the Portal for any activity that violates the laws of Uganda

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension and, where applicable, referral to relevant regulatory and legal law enforcement authorities.

User Accounts

Where access requires account creation, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You must notify NITA-U immediately of any suspected unauthorized access to your account. NITA-U is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your credentials.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Portal — including text, design, graphics, logos, icons, and software — is the property of NITA-U or its licensors and is protected under Ugandan and international intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute content from this Portal without prior express written permission from NITA-U.

Disclaimers

The Portal is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. NITA-U makes no warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. While NITA-U strives to maintain a secure environment, we do not guarantee that the Portal will be uninterrupted, error-free, or entirely free of security vulnerabilities.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NITA-U shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Portal.

Changes to These Terms

NITA-U reserves the right to update or amend these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Portal after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any legal disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Uganda.
